Choosing the right handles for your cabinets

A practical way to compare pulls, knobs, ring forms and specialty furniture hardware.

8814 Round Bar Cabinet Pull — Brushed Brass
Model 8814 · Brushed brass · original catalogue product image

The best starting point is the furniture itself. Cabinet-front proportions, existing fixing positions and the way a piece is used give a hardware shortlist a practical foundation. The LONGLIN catalogue offers several different outlines: a straight bar, a compact knob, a hanging ring and a more expressive semicircle. Each can contribute to a visual scheme, but the model number and printed dimensions need to stay with the photograph.

Compare the shape families

Model 8814 is a useful reference for a straight cabinet pull with a broad range of printed size rows. Model 6637 offers a compact round knob in three sizes. Model 6627 brings a ring form into the comparison, while 8863 presents a semicircular profile.

These are different product forms, rather than interchangeable fixing solutions. Begin by deciding which outline belongs on the furniture, then check the relevant mounting information. A similar visual width does not establish the same fixing pattern.

Let the cabinet front set the scale

Review the hardware against the actual door or drawer front. A larger front may accommodate a longer visual line, while a compact knob can create a smaller repeated detail. There is no single catalogue length that automatically fits every cabinet of a particular width.

Keep enough information to compare options accurately: overall length or diameter, width, the printed height and any hole-centre dimension. If an existing piece is being replaced, the existing mounting arrangement may narrow the practical shortlist before appearance is considered.

Choose a finish on an actual model

The selected collection shows brushed brass across these four references, making it possible to compare the forms within one finish direction. Other finishes appear on particular models elsewhere in the catalogue. Do not assume that one finish palette applies to every shape.

When colour matching matters, ask about a physical sample and compare it with the actual furniture and nearby materials. A screen image is helpful for direction; the final appearance discussion should include the chosen model and finish together.

Turn the shortlist into an enquiry

List each model, finish and size on its own line, with the required quantity. If you are not ready to choose a size, leave the dimension choice for confirmation and explain the cabinet application in your message.

For a custom detail, identify the closest catalogue reference and describe what would change. A clear starting point helps separate a standard model request from a drawing or sample-based discussion. Pricing, supply timing and delivery are then matters for the quotation, rather than assumptions made from the online photograph.
